Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge or maybe idea's, i have the above lens, had it a a while now.

I bought this for my sons football tour in Europe last year, used it for the 4 days trip, on the last few games i noticed the AF had stopped working, didnt really think a lot of it (assumed i had messed with something) so packed it away and carried on.

Now, seems strange to wait this long, but on return, all working fine, its a very intermittent problem, its not like it hunts, more so doesn't do anything at all.

I've tried a few things, at different times (as always only happens mid game.....) so i dont really spend any time sorting or trying to work out why.

So 2 days ago, out it came again, worked fine for a few minutes, changed to my 35mm for a bit, then back, maybe a minute or two later, issue returns.

Just got it out to try again and everything is working normal, even in my very dark lounge, in tight, full open, f2.8 - f16 hit everytime.

i wondering if its me, maybe some setting somewhere i change without thinking, maybe something to do with the focal ring position or something ??

Feel free to ask anything, i will do my best to try it or answer.

Sigma 70-200 1:2.8 APO DG HSM MACRO

thanks

any ideas anyone ? i would happily take it to Sigma or a repair centre, if one was local.

im just really not keen on posting, so was hoping i could eliminate the "user"

Are the contacts on the lens clean?

thanks, didn't think of that, they look spotless, but will try cleaning, it never spends any time without a cover, maybe a few seconds when changed.
