sigma 70-200 (Canon)

It's supurb. I have the mk2 non OS and its probably my sharpest lens.

Loads of threads already on this though. Loads.
 
I hear both good and bad version story's. For the money, you could look at getting canons f4 version? Just a thought
 
By general rule, 2.8 or lower(wider) is allways a go to for weddings. The only thing I can say, is if you know a store near by selling both lenses, pop down with your camera and take a few shots of the same thing with both lenses, 70mm at 2.8 200mm at 2.8 and the same for the f4 :) then compare each shots.

I can't really comment on anything bar what I've read and a couple of friends opinions. Until I've had a shot on the sigma I can't comment on if it's good or bad :) but I've used the canon f4 and f2.8 and I feel the f4 was sharper.

Not indoors. Outdoors will be fine.

Weddings, I'd go for the siggy 70-200 f2.8 and some fast primes.

I mean as in tools for the job.

An f/2.8 lens will give you shots you won't get with an f/4. Particularly inside!
