Hello.

I made an offer on a Canon 70-200 USM F4 L lens on ebay for £330. The offer has been accepted but over the past few days I thought it would be best to get a Sigma 70-200 F2.8 HSM? (Non OS).

Shall I stick to the canon as I hear good things about canon L glass but it is only F4. Its just been serviced too.

Ile pay and get the canon. I know USM lenses are also meant to be awsome. Its just that its not IS and doesn't have f2.8 allowing for higher shutter speeds which puts me off.
 
I sold my sigma to get the canon version which is great & light a very good lens for panning ....
Wished I did it last motorsport season !!!
 
oh yeah good price as long its in good condition ..
Get a UV filter to keep lens in good nick ..
Panning you don't need IS or higher shutter speeds ..
 
I've used the 70-200 f4 and its great, really really sharp wide open and as for the f4 widest aperture, doesnt really matter, you can get plenty of light into it and even then you could bump the ISO up a tad to get your required shutter speeds. I'm in the same boat here, cant decide whether to buy the sigma 70-200 or the canon, i do like the idea of the 2.8 constant aperture though lol.
