Sigma 70-200 OS

Does anyone have or had any hands-on experience of this lens ?

It's the most recent image stabilised version - f2.8 APO DG HSM. It gets a really good review in the October edition of Advanced Photographer magazine and runs the Canon IS MkII very close.

Very tempted

I just read the same review and I think overall it beat the Canon. But I think only because it's like a third of the price.

Decent, but nowhere near Canon II, sorry. OS will be a major help at slower speeds so that's good for portraits, where you probably don't want a mega sharp lens anyway. In other words, I wouldn't pick this for areal shoot for example. Does that satisfy you?
