Sigma 70-200

Hey Folks

Im in the market for a zoom lens thats quick, as I cant afford some of the Nikon 2.8 gear I may try and pick up a Sigma at a decent price (second hand). Problem is I dont really know much about the codes and if the will work on my body (D80). Can anyone shed some light on this lens and if its good?

Any of them will work just fine on your D80, that linked ebay lens is one of the later models in the Sigma 70-200 2.8 line (there's a Macro II and a newer OS version versions that were released subsequently).

They are a nicely made lens with quick AF, but I would say that some examples are better than others with regard to front/back focus and/or softness and for that reason I'd not buy one unless I'd seen sample shots or I had the opportunity to return it if I wasn't happy.
