Sigma 70-200

I have the above lens for a nikon fit, however when it tries to auto focus whilst the camera is aiming say towards 12 o'clock (up) there is a nasty screeching sound. however if the camera pointing in the middle and it auto focuses its nice and smooth.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

you mean when its pointing at the sky it makes a noise? could be the AF mech slipping.

i would contact sigma UK service drop them an email or phone them for advice..
