Can't quite make my mind up wether to stick with my Sigma 120-400mm Lens or buy the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 then use either 1.4 converter or 2. Will i loose the auto function?
Thanks in advance

I had a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG EX Macro II and both 1.4x, 2.0x EX teleconverters. Very good on its own or with the 1.4x. With the 2.0x focusing was noticeably slower and IQ takes a hit as well. Don't know how that compares with the 120-400mm though.

I use my Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS II lens and both a 1.4x and 2x converter and still get outstanding results. I don't know how the Sigma would compare with the Canon in the first place but using the converters doesn't affect AF function, it might slow it slightly though. It does affect IQ but not to a massive amount. This was taken with a Canon 70D (on its first outing) with the 70-200 and 2x, 1/400, ISO100 and f8 and no PP apart from the jpeg settings in camera and a crop.
