Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG II HSM Macro - Nikon Fit

I use the earlier version Sigma 70-210 f2.8, and it is a cracking lens, producing good clean sharp images. This particular lens is used on my D70, making for a less expensive set up, for when I'm shooting in very vulnerably situations, then if all goes pear shaped, I have not lost a expensive unit.
 
Can't really comment on the Siggy as I've never used one but many people on here give it good reviews and a couple of guys at the camera club I belong to have them and produce excellent results.

In your position, I would certainly be thinking seriously about it as the cost, compared to the Nikon, is very attractive.
 
I have this this lens and use it for my motorsport photography. karting, mini motor, rallying and I have also used it for photographing my young grandchildren.
The only problen I have had with it is the focus motor failed, sent to Sigma repaired ant back within 10 days and I think the cost was about £120.
 
I have one and use it on my D7000 and D300. Good optic and fast focus and accurate. Bought my used so is super cheap. I've produce good portraits and sports shot with the lens.
