Hello,

Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 APO EX HSM

Just been my my local shop at lunch and seen this in the window, any one got one ? its 2nd hand but im currently using a sigma 70-300 non IS.

I shoot mainly cycling and want to start shooting football and rugby.

Any input?

a great budget alternative to the canon and nikon 70-200 f2.8s.. we've got 2 (although the first gen "macro" version) and theyre fast and sharp all the way through.

No issues with IQ and probably better than your current gear, but make sure you give it a thorough test drive due to Sigma's quality control not being all it could be, and check for front/back focussing issues.
If its a good 'un then go for it

Upgraded to one from a Canon 70-200 f/4 and haven't looked back.

Mine is the latest one, there are four versions IIRC...

I've a mark I Macro which I picked up used and I must say I'm very, very happy with it, however I did have a non DG (earlier) version beforehand which was sharp but the AF was a bit juddery and unreliable so I sent it back to the dealers...
