Sigma 70-300 HELP

I have just purchased a sigma 70-300APO from ebay for my canon 400D
To find out it needs to be chipped. it shows an error 99 and dose not allow me to use it. I have contacted sigma direct but they cant help dose anyone now how dose this. All help would be greatful.

why wont sigma help, even if its grey stock (import) they will help at a fee. To be honest i didnt think the 70-300 needs to be chipped, the lens model is not that old. I would send back to sender if you bought it 'as new'
 
They explained to me that it was an older modle and they no longer had the parts for it
so im looking for some where I can get it chipped if you could help that would be great.
sigma also said there should be some places out there still doing this.
I got it of ebay second hand.
