Yes
Hi all, i am looking at this lens and wondered, would this allow for AF with my D3100 as the D3100 does not have an in-built motor?

Many thanks!

Yes it does. However spend the very not much extra and get the APO DG version with motor. It's a much better performer IQ wise. Or there is the Nikon 55-200 which most agree is better than both Sigma's.

Thanks Peter for your reply!

I have had a look at the APO DG version, what would be the main difference between that lens and the one i posted in the original post? Many thanks!

In the most basic terms APO just mean it will be a bit sharper and have better control over colour aberration and things like purple fringing. Google APO, chromatic aberration and spherical aberration if you dare. :) Although if you don't mind a bit less length, the Nikon 55-200 really is much better... much sharper for one. Ask any of the big muckity mucks here that shoot Nikon. Even the Tamron 70-300 LD Di is better than the non-APO sigma (I'd say tied with the APO version but some disagree) but not sure if they have in-lens motor for Nikon.
