Sigma 70-300mm or Nikon 55-200mm AF-S

First i would like to say Merry Christmas to you all, hope it has been good.

Now for the hard part, i would like a new lens for my Nikon D3000 and i have about £150 maybe a bit more and i have been looking and reading about and two i have thought quite a bit about is the Nikon 55-200mm and the Sigma 70-300mm (the motorized one for my D3000) and i will be using it for all types of photography to be fair. I know the Nikon has VR what i would like and the Sigma doesn't but i have wireless flashed i could use to bring the shutter speed up. Really i just wanted to know what you lot think because my head is in bits and i know they are a lot of helpful people on this site, so please give me your opinions.

Save, beg or borrow another £100, cameraworld are knocking out the Nikkor 55-300 VR for £249.99 at present.

Sigma 70-300 was super awful in my hands. Slow, Soft and Sigma

Some Sigma 70-300 samples here. The APO version is worth the extra cost.

However, I would go along with Ian's suggestion of the Nikon 55-300VR. Seems good value for money.

I wanted the 55-300 to start with but it was just to much as my gun broke and I needed a new one, so I guess it's time to scrimp and save, thanks guys.
