Sigma 85mm f1.4 af issues

My 85mm f1.4 on my 5d mkii seems to have af issues it keeps hunting even in good light it's hit and miss and at different distances?

Only had it a month from wex.

My sigma 50mm f1.4 doesn't do it at all?

Have you tried the lens on a different body? Perhaps Sigma needs to update the microcode to make this lens work on Canon's latest model.

Ive always found 85's to hunt a bit, having both the sigma and nikon version and having heard about thr canon 1.2.

My sigma is better than the nikon in this respect but the 50 is quicker and doesnt hunt

I haven't noticed any problems with mine. Is it possible that you're pointing it at a target that doesn't give it much to lock on to? If that's the problem try aiming at something with a higher contrast, or an edge.

If you've done your best to get the best out of it and it's still causing problems is there any chance you could call in at a dealers and try another?
