Sigma 90mm Macro f2.8 EF Info Please

Hi Peeps

I have a chance of getting a Sigma 90mm Macro f2.8 EF lens for my Canon 600d and wondered if anyone has anything positive/negative to say about the lens?

Optical performance will be quite good but, as this is likely to be quite an old lens, you need to make sure that it has been re-chipped to work with Canon's digital bodies. Sigma lenses from the Eos film era won't always be compatiable with the modern Eos bodies.

I had the 50mm macro of this type.

To use it on digital without having it chipped I had to keep it on F2.8 and have the setting set to manual. Auto focus worked though. Then you can get it to work without having it chipped. Used on 400D, 50D, 7D & 5D mkII
