Has anyone used a converter with a sigma 120 - 400 and if so is it any good or a waste of money?:shrug:

I know I need a Canon lens but funds just wont stretch at the moment - dam it :lol:
 
I asked about a converter and was expecting people to say "buy a canon lens etc" :lol:

I have a canon 70 - 200 would it be better to by a converter for that (trouble is it is not mine and don't know how long I will have it for) if so what would I need to reach out to 500 and give me good shots

I've used both the Sigma 1.4 and 2X with my Sigma150-500 and have been happy with the results.

with 1.4

I have a Tamron -F AF teleconverter (1.4x) that has the HSM contacts and that works fine with the Sigma 120 - 400 - Pentax fit.

Hang onto it for as long as you need to Nicki, I'm still having a sordid affair with my 24-105 :love: and grubby buildings. (Yes I'm back from France).
 
It'll be manual focus only at the long end with any converter. f/5.6 is the slowest any body but a 1 series will AF with.
