Sigma DG 500 Super and Canon 1DX

Howdy - so I borrowed a flash for my 1DX for a test and noted it does not seem to work - red light etc comes on and test fire is okay but the camera cannot trigger it. I already have a Sigma 530 and it works fine. Can someone confirm that the 500 does not work with the 1DX (works with the MK IV from what I can remember)

Not 100% sure, but there's a very good chance the gun needs a firmware upgrade. Check with Sigma.

Almost certainly the case, my 530 would fire on the 5d mkii but needed a firmware upgrade for full compatibility. It was pretty cheap provided you have the original receipt which was included when I got mine second hand.

Thanks folks - don't worry .. as I said it was a mates borrow for the weekend to test some off camera stuff .... My main units work fine .. and interestingly so does the 530DG super ...
