Does anyone use the above flash?

I have the opportunity to buy one relatively cheaply but would like to know how it compares to the Canon 430 EXII which is more expensive. I appreciate that Canon branded kit can be more expensive due to the brand name but in terms of ease of use and functionality is there much difference.

I have the Sigma 530 DG Super which is a more advanced version of the one you mention. I'd recommend you to go for the "super" insted of the ST. The super will give you almost all the features of a 580ex at a fraction of the price.

Build quality is not as good as Canon but it's not bad at all. I also had to send mine to Sigma for a firmware upgrade to make it compatible with the latest Canon bodies. I think it's the same with the ST, you probably will have to send it for an upgrade.
