Sigma Ex 1.4tc + Kenko Tubes possible?

I bought a Sigma Ex 1.4x TC thinking it would work with my Sigma Ex 105mm 2.8 Macro lens.

Well it doesn't fit! :( I should have looked up compatibility first!

However I had an idea to put tubes between the two, so I could get it working. Is this possible? Has anyone done it?

Should work.

Assuming it's the front element of the Sigma telecon that's the problem, if you can swap it for a Kenko Pro 300 1.4x that will probably fit. Check first though.
 
I use my sigma 1.4tc then the kenko tubes then my Nikon 105 vr and it works fine, it even AF's still.

I ordered the TC from Hong Kong - would have lost £50 to send it back...
