I've got the sigma 85mm 1.4 and I'm considering sending it into sigma for calibration, when it nails the focus @1.4 it's razor sharp, but it can be a bit inconsistent, I've also noticed that for subjects far away it performs best when Micro adjusted to -16 and for subject close micro adjusted to 0, I've spoken to the guys at sigma and they said then can recalibrate it for me.

Just after people's thoughts and experiences

Is it going to cost you ?

If you've spoken to Sigma and they've said they can re calibrate it for you, you feel it's worth while, then if get it done. Can't see you've anything to loose ...

As its a grey import, albeit it only being 2 months old they said worse case scenario £37.99

Aaah that a bit of a bummer - is it worth contacting the place you bought it from to see if they can offer any help with the cost ?

I sent in an import 30mm f1.4 for focus calibration and it came back just as bad. After I contacted them again they wanted me to send in the camera with it so they could match the 2 properly but I was worried that it would upset all my other lenses so I didn't bother.

I have a 50-150mm f2.8 for the 7D I would like calibrated (needs +15) but not sure if I should give them another try.

Hmmm interesting, they said to I'm that if they couldn't Improve it,I could send in my camera and have them cal'd together, Referring to your comment about messing it up for you other lenses, do they just not cal the lens to your camera or would them alter both the camera and lens?

They won't change the camera.
