Can some1 tell me why a sigma lens (say the 180 f3.5) wont work with a canon Tele converter. :bang:

or have i been told fibs??

The Canon Extenders have a protruding front element so will only work with lenses with the space for this to fit into!

Ahhh.....

And of course the sigma's dont have the recess that TC compatible canon lens's have
elementary... cheers ed

But what happen if i through a extension tube in the mix?

You will be able to focus a bit closer. But you'll lose infinity focus.

The Kenko Pro or Sigma telecons will fit okay, as they don't have the protruding front bit.

The Sigma teleconverters have the protruding front element and will only fit certain Sigma lenses that have the recessed rear element (70-200mm f2.8, 100-300mm f4 and a few others).

Correct, should have said. Sigma TCs do have a (slighly lesser) protruding front element but fit both the 150 and 180mm Sigma macros.
