Sigma lens help.

Help, can anybody tell me how to remove the front element on a Sigma 400mm prime, dosent appear to have any slots or anything to unscrew.

Is there a cover round the outside of the element with writing on, I beleive on the Canon lenses you can very carefully lift this and the retaining screws are below it

It has a built in lenshood, the hood only goes level with the front of the lens when its retracted, there is an internal screw thread for filters, so the front element probably unscrews, but no obvious method of doing it.

There is a old 400 prime ,mine is manual focus only.
And no,I don't know how to get the front element off or I would do it with mine as it is filled with dust....

Watch this space, I have just bought a cheap one off the bay, will strip it and let you know what happens.
