Sigma lens import

Can anyone tell me if you can tell if a sigma lens is a uk model or import or does it matter.

Not 100% sure but I think to get the warranty they need to be from a UK reseller.

Thanks it's just a replacement from my insurence company came today and most of the warranty card etc is from japan

Do you mean there are bits of paper with Japanese on in the box? That's normal, all of mine have those.

If I remember rightly you just have to go online to register for the extended warranty.

I would imagine that if its an insurance replacement then it would certainly be a UK model...

If your in that amount of doubt then just email Sigma UK with the serial no. & they will tell you if its imported (very much doubt that it is thou)

I think it's just where the serial no. is there is a number and one of those new square barcodes never seen that on a lens before.

Not quite correct. If it's from outside the UK they will want to see evidence that import duty and vat have been paid.

I think this applies to the 3 year extended warrenty, they carry a 12 month warrenty, but UK ones get the 3 year extended warrenty...
