Sigma Lens Issue

Went out today to give my a77 a workout with the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 attached and had taken about half a dozen shots and the autofocus gave up the ghost after working fine for 2 years on an a580.

Have tried the lens on an a55, a330 also and the AF no longer works, though MF seems fine on all three.
When the cameras are turned on you can hear a slight ticking noise as though the AF is trying to work.

Any ideas anyody?....input appreciated.

Best to give sigmas service dept a shout, they'll probably have a good idea

Thought about that, the lens was originally purchased prior to my owning it as a grey import so not sure if they would want to know tbh. Got it for a good price so if it can't be sorted then major issue.

They don't seem to worry about it being an import if it's a paid repair .. only if it's under warranty. I had the same thing happen to a 70-200mm f2.8 and they fixed it in a couple of weeks, cost was approx £120.
