Anybody know anything about an old sigma lens 300mm f1.4 apo hsm!!
I know about the 400 f5.6 but never come across the 300mm!!

I've never heard of any lens that long at 1.4? Are you sure it's not been written down as 300mm 1.4 rather than 300mm 1:4 (e.g F4)

I remember a Sigma APO Macro 300 f4 from about 20 years ago....don't remember there being a HSM version though, thought the longer Sigma primes were replaced by the likes of the 140-400 and 170-500 before HSM came along.

Definitely no such thing as a 300mm f/1.4. Nikon used to make a 300mm f/2 which was absolutely huge, so a 300mm f/1.4 would be... impractical, shall we say. It's definitely confusion over the aperture being written as 1:4, ie an f/4 lens.

The lens you're talking about is probably the Sigma 300mm f/4 APO Tele Macro HSM. It says Macro but it's only 1:3 at minimum focus distance, not a 'true' macro. I don't know anything about it personally but you can read some user reviews here:

Thanks for info, it was confusion! This person is selling the 400 and 300 on eBay and says that they have been used on a 6d! I've had the 400 which worked pretty well but the version I had only worked at 5.6, I've never come across its smaller sibling before! The person is asking to much money for them anyway!
