Sigma servicing question

usually sigma quote a lead time of 1-2 weeks whenever ive had something done. unless they need parts from HK then it can take much longer.

best to contact them and ask but did no one check lead times before sending as sigma recommend?

i was told of lead times, and req that i could have it for Glasto, its only that i phoned them that i found out it was sent off elsewhere, i also sent an email on "reply" to one i had received and havent received a reply, just a shame they havent kept me upto date on the situation, on a plus note, they only charged me just under £40 which i thought was quite reasonable, especially now its gone to hk by the sounds of it, just wondered what times others had had to wait

ive always had email responses to those send within 1 working day.

otherwise service times ive had:

120-300 - repair previous owners drop damage (new outer cams and casing of the focus mech) 5-6 weeks i think it was while waiting on parts.

70-200 - loose rear element 1 week and was undercharged.

70-200 - intermittant faulty aperture mech 2 weeks after waiting 3 weeks for parts after HK disaster (didnt send it until parts were in so could keep using it).

oh and i got a free 120-300 tripod mount after the previous owner stripped the thread (circa £190). so overall im really happy with the service out of Sigma UK service dept, always friendly and helpful.
