Extract from email I received from them when my 150-500 was in for repair :-

What was your lens in for if you don't mind me asking ?
Mine has fungus ( same lens )

It had to have an electronic component replaced (MR sensor) and then recalibrated. I think it burned out after leaving my equipment in a car in extreme (even for Florida) heat. I couldn't hold the lens because it was too hot !
