Sigma85mm 1.4 or canon 85mm 1.2

I already have the canon 1.8 and it's probably my most used lens I take mainly portraits. I'm loving the images the sigma produces but have never bought other than canon. Is the canon 1.2 worth the extra extra money or is the sigma just as good

I ve never used the Canon 85 1.2 but from all the reviews I ve read its just an amazing lens to have apart from the slow focus speed compared to other 85mm 1.4 and 1.8 lenses. I have tried the Sigma 85mm 1.4 Nikon mount and its sharp and fast with beautiful bokeh and colour rendition. Sadly the copy I have ordered had a faulty focusing motor
 
Yeah, unfortunately I've never owned the sigma. I own the canon 1.8 and 1.2 though and the difference in quality of the shots is noticable. The bokeh at 1.2 is amazing and the lens is so sharp especially on the mark ii.

Whether it's worth the extra money is your decision, but going from reviews the Sigma is also a stunning lens also, maybe not quite up with the canon L, but close.
 
The Canon is in a different league, but the price is too. If you already have the 1.8 I'd probably just stick with that and look at maybe the 135L.
 
Hi thanks for the feedback. I wouldn't use the 135mm for portraits the perfect focal length for me is 85 mm but whether the quality of the 1.8 is worth spending more for something better. I have the 70-200 mm which I've used twice so I'd probably sell that to fund a new 85 mm
