Sigmas for Safari?

I have just booked a Safari to Tanzania for my honeymoon in July:) but only have the 18-105 kit lens on my D90. I have been getting into wildlife photography so would like to buy a lens (maybe 2nd hand) rather than go down the route of hiring but would love some advice as to which way to go. Looking, everything points towards the good old Sigma 150-500 as with a wedding and honeymoon to pay for I need to keep an eye on the price, but apart from the obvious zoom difference would the cheaper Sigma 120-400 be ok or is there some major differences? Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi John.

I was out in Kenya on my honeymoon in february this year and had a Nikon 55-300 out with me. Found it not long enough, if i was going back it would be the 150-500 sigma for me. I am buying one in this next month for use around home anyway. If i can help you with any safari related questions just give me a shout.
