Simon's 52 for 2026

Fab shot for theme and tech - and defo the mono!

It's always the bits between the poses that seem to come out the best (probably not if you're dealing with professional models). It's a fun image.

Week 32 - Quiet Moments

On holiday this week in Pembrokeshire. To be fair there have been virtually no quiet moments, but I like this silhouette of St David's Cathedral on a still night just after sunset

Week 33 - Cultural Elements

A selection for you this week, all from Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan

Bandstand
My chosen shot. An image of the once proud bandstand - an icon of British-ness (or Welsh-ness in this case). Firstly, it's more original I think than the other shots, and secondly, I've processed it to make it look a bit more crunchy, in keeping with it's general dilapidated state, which rather matches the tired, sun scorched surroundings.

Take your pick
This was a close second. There's a lot to choose from here.
People have a Sunday morning seaside moment, the local RNLI washing down their lifeboat after a trip out, and the a great British pier.

Ice Cream
Finally, and perhaps the least original, the traditional pier ice cream kiosk.

I like your chosen shot. I remember the bandstand in my local park when I was a kid.

Three nice shots there Simon, your chosen shot is my favourite.

The weeds would have once been a delightful flower bed and is symptomatic of the cultural environment that most councils in general and the government in particular find themselves in, as a country we are skint and the detail jobs are the first to go, weeds down the sides of pavements and uncut road verges irk me as well. A great thought provoking photograph !

Thanks Wayne. Much appreciated.
