Week 35 - Snapper's Choice

Penarth pier to the rescue again. A gloomy day, with few folks about. Converted to 16:9 format for a different perspective to usual and lose some sky without losing the main focus of attention. Exposure has been bumped up a little but it's still gloomy and hopefully a bit atmospheric

Nice comp and the crop works in heaps. Just needs those blown patches of sky sorting for me. Not a difficult task.

Nostalgia
It's a good idea. The VW does look as if it's stuck in the sand.

Snappers choice
I really like that, simple and minimal, in a good way. Nicely processed too.

Like the lining up of the bench, post and building at the end of the pier, the lights nearly make it as well :)
Missing those summer days already, though maybe not the 30+ days

Great image, well done ;)

Week 36 - One street, many stories

Currently on holiday in Corfu, one of my favourite places. This is a shot of The Liston in Corfu Town. It’s a Venetian inspired pedestrianised street constructed in 1807 running alongside the Spinada - part town square, part park. One of the most famous sites in Corfu, and hugely popular with tourists - amazed I got this shot with so few people in! This is about half of the overall Liston.

More info here

As an interesting aside, off to the right hand side of the shot, beyond the cafe seating areas, is the original Corfu town cricket pitch.
