With my Fuji XF1 failing and only being left with just the Fuji X10, I wanted a basic simple Compact that was pocketable. Wanted something to slip in the pocket should I see anything worth snapping, or getting a video clip of. Mainly when I am in the park, or when I just don't want the bulk of the X10. Settled for a Panasonic TZ55 mainly for the 20X zoom ( mainly video) of wild life in the park etc. Only got it because it was cheap and cheerful, for happy snapping and Video.
Certainly would not use the Panasonic for friend and family doos,as the photo images from it are pretty crap! Only benefit of it are, 20X zoom that would get that photo the X10 would not have got because of distance, and the photo I would not have got because I left the X10 at home.
