Simple wrist strap wanted...can't find

Hi folks,

I get really annoyed with my standard strap on my Canon 40D, I usually wrap it around my wrist as I just want the safety factor incase I dropped it etc. Ideally what I want is just a much shorter version of the current strap, I'm happy to hold the camera but want the security of a small loop round my wirst, also better for theft I guess.

This is not what I want, way to much padding/size and its round the hand not wrist.

Anyone know of anything that would suit what I want, google has not been good so far.

i have one of those hand straps in the first post, its a good idea if your taking pictures at a small event, but i tell you something, its a right ball ache and most of the time i end up putting my hand around it rather than in it...

i used to use a http://optechusa.com/gotcha-wrist-strap.html but its a PITA if youre constantly changing to and from the portrait controls on a grip or 1D.

Yup, I have the Optech QD on my cameras for just-in-case moments. It's robust enough so that I could drop my 50D and 100-400 lens and it would hold it. Indeed I would regularly drop the camera when I wanted to use my bins. It's also a good length for putting around a head when using a tripod.

I was worried about buying one of these initially because I was afraid of the Quick release coming apart, but I didn't have to worry. I needed a pair of jewellery pliers to squeeze the QR together to get it apart initially. It's now nice and firmly attached.
