Slik AF1100E Trigger Release Pistol Grip on a Monopod.

has anyone tried a Slik AF1100E Trigger Release Pistol Grip on a Monopod.
i have a Manfrotto 680B, tried a basic ball head which i found to be pretty useless, now considering this, has anyone else tried it?

I have used one for years pretty good with a 1dmk2 + 500mm (Redsnapper do a similar head, i think?)
