Pretty sure the Slingshot 200 won't take the body and lens. One of the bigger Toploaders might but even that'#s probably pushing it. I always carry the 150-500 in the supplied case and fit it when wanted rather than keep it on the body.
I have the supplied lens case which seems sturdy enough.
Basically, I'm not the type of person who'll go somewhere to take photos, I like to have my camera with me to capture the moments of where I've been and what I've seen (i.e. travel), hence wanting quick access to the camera with lens.
Faffing around with lens cases seems a little counterproductive...
I'm wondering if the 150-500 is perhaps overkill for what I want but then the missus carries a D60 with 18-105 so I may as well have the bigger reach..?
I used to have a Tamrac Velocity 9x, which is a sling bag, that would fit my canon 40D and 100-400 attched, with hood the corrrect way. Not sure on the size of the Bigma, but may be worth a look? I see they do a 10x now too.
The only thing i don't like about the fastpacks is the silly flap at the front with the zip pocket behind, it serves no purpose as far as i can see, i have the fastpack 100 and find it a real pain if i want to open it up.
