Guys,

Looking at getting the above bag for my DSLR.

At the moment I only have a D60 and my longest lens is the 55-200.

I am looking to get a D90 and 70-300 later in year, which will make my equipment list as follows.

D90
Evryday lens (i.e 18-105mm)
70-300mm
35mm
SB600
Gorillapod

Then all the usual bits and peices.

Will the 200 size be big enough to accomodate the upgrade.

Read lots of reviews and the seem a little conflicting.

I still have mine, and used it for my old d90, 70-300, kit lens, 50mm and sb600. It did fit although tight. Had the flash in its case at the top. Not sure you will have space for gorillapod.
 
Cheers Simon, I think I'm gonna go for it and get it.

Reckon I will be able to get the gorillapod strapped onto the side somehow.

Even I went all out and got the 300, it has room for more lens rather than a 'gorillapod space'

Pretty sure you could make it fit by changing the partitions round. Whether this is something you'd want...

Assuming they've not changed the design, the main area is split into 5 areas in a 2-1-2 layout. Only the central area, for the camera and mounted lens is full width and accessed from the side. The other four lens spaces are relatively short and have to be accessed by fully opening the main flap.

You can get longer lenses in by covering the Velcro (big stores seem to sell strips of Velcro with both sides) on the main partitions so it doesn't stick to the sides and moving the short dividers splitting the left and right sections from vertical to horizontal. This gives you two long side-entry spaces for lenses etc. with a narrow space for something like a Speedlight, or I guess a Gorillapod, above the lens.

For me the Slingshots seemed an interesting idea that never quite worked; though many seem to think they're great, so... I suspect they're best when lightly loaded.

Best thing would be to take your 70-300 and tripod to a dealer and you should be able to see how thngs could be moved around to make things fit. You could also put some weight in one and see how the 'sling' works.

You might like to look at the Mini-Trekker AW and Micro-Trekker backpacks.

Although wont be purchasing from them, they are nearly £30 more than I've found.

I am a fairly large build, 6 foot and 19 stone, one thing I found was that it cut into chest.

I use a Crumpler 5500 now and can carry it all day without any problems.

I've got my 70-300 in a 100AW. That is tight.

Another user on here (and another forum I use) slips one leg of his Gorillapod through one of the accessory loops on the side, and that seems to do the trick.
 
I got a Canon 450D with the 75-300IS mounted into a slingshot 100, but it was tight.

Now running with a 70-200 f2.8 IS mounted on my 450D in a slingshot 300, fits nice, with my Bigmos 150-500 unmounted beneath it.

However you appear to be from the dark side ;¬)

Anyway, experience tells me get the bigger bag! Slingshot 300 or Kata 3n1 30, which I saw tday in Taunton LCE for £79.99, and it looks the business!
