clever! not sure i agree with the amount of noise at 1600 ISO however lol!

It seems extremey noisy!

other than that, its a great learning tool...

yeah its pretty cool. the dof is a bit to simple on it it basically keeps the girl focussed no matter what the distance etc and just blurs the background but noise and shutter speed are handled well

Thanks all

yeah its only a simulator so not perfect but good grounding for someone who knows nothing and wants to learn about SLR photography

Nifty little thing that is!

It's good to see all the variables laid out in front of you like that, reminds you of how much there is to think about!

But my actual DSLR doesn't need a Flash plug in to make it work (I'm on my iPad)

Steve

I like it and can see how somebody first starting out with a DSLR would find it very intuitive and help them get started. Would be great if it showed you the histogram for the photo you just took as well, as very often especially in awkward lighting conditions you rely on this rather than the image on the back of the screen.

I agree having the histogram would be an excellent idea, I for one would like to learn more about using it properly.

Pleased you find it useful

Flippin heck guys histogram as well, some folk are just never satisfied, its just a simulator if you want to see what happens with the histogram use your camera and do some tests ;)

LOL Chris to the copyright :D

Yeah thanks Alex, thought Id post it as theres lots of new members signing up who are just starting out in the DSLR world, Im sure some will find it useful, and give at least some basic idea about Full Manual. TV and AV,

Hiya Dave,

Thanks for this, it is a great learning tool.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Good idea, im sure this would have saved me a lot of bother when i first started.

I really like it. I was impressed that you'd included camera shake for the long exposures. How about a button for shake reduction on/off? This would emphasise to a beginner that the long exposure shot has gone blurred because of camera shake.

What a crackin find that is, thanks a lot. Added it to favourites.

cracking idea:thumbs:, just sent the link to a few friends who will find it very helpful.

Now that is handy! I only wish I came across that years ago, even though I'm starting to get to grips with manual settings anyway. A great find, and will forward that to anyone I know who are struggling with a DSLR.

really happy that you all find it interesting and useful enough to tell your friends about it hope they gain some knowledge and can benefit from it

You are such a STAR Dave and a credit to TP :)

Impressive, I have some friends who are interested in taking their cameras out of auto and learning how to use the damn thing so this should help!

I think it might be more usefull to a beginner if the slider worked in real time so they could see the effect of moving them rather than have to take a snap each time, they can do that with their cameras.
