I bought a Nikon 80-200mm F2.8 lens off ebay for peanuts recently because of some minor damage.
Well after using it I have found something else apart from damage quoted (typical) the aperture blades seem to be sticking a bit. They are closing down, I have moved the lever and they work and it works with depth of field preview but on some of my photos its way over exposed. Most of the photos are spot on and VERY sharp especially wide open
I noticed when I move the little aperture lever that connects to camera and let go they spring back but not as quick as my other lenses. So today I have been working the lens a bit opening closing aperture etc and it has seemed to improve.
With this being a constant F2.8 and previous owner being a sports photographer could it be just to lack of use of the lower F-Stops like F11, 22 etc ?
