[S1]NEWSFLASH ~ IanC UK becomes a twitcher without realising it[/S1]

That first shot is lovely :)

Thanks all! Stonechat it is... another first for me, so very pleased with that.

For some reason, when I first posted, shots 1 and 2 were the same... Now edited, so I think 1 is the male, 2 and 3 female?

Hard to say for sure but I think No 2 is a young male. Probably this years hatch.

Ah right. How do you tell? Front more coloured?

Yeh, the males have the darker head and pinker front.

It's sometime hard to distinguish birds sexes in their juvinile plumage of in their winter or non breeding colours. We don't have Stonechats up here so I've never seen one in the flesh. Whinchats we do have and they are quite similar.

Like humans its generally the males tend to be the best looking.:LOL::LOL:

Hey you two ^^^ something you're not telling us? Preferring the males indeed!

I prefer females myself!

So long as the breast is full, firm & stands proudly on display, I don't care whether it's white, pink, brown or black :naughty::naughty::naughty:

i.e. Swan, Chaffinch, Sparrrow, Crow - in that order, obviously :p

LOL. I think you know what we mean Dave :LOL::LOL:
