I've been messing around with a hoya 720nm over my phone and it is much easier to get half decent IR shots with it as obviously the IR side isn't anywhere near as attenuated with a cheapo mobile sensor as with a proper dslr sensor. Big advantage is that the phone's screen viewfinder works through the filter.
I can't seem to find any small IR filters for phones that don't seem to be on dodgy websites going on about seeing through people's clothes (a myth I assume)
The hoya 62mm is a bit on the large side. I could do with a rectangular filter that would clip over the raised camera section. Does such an item exist?
I heard you can also use fully exposed negative film over the sensor. Does that actually work? That would be easy to use as I must have the odd frame that I could use. Would it matter whether it was colour or black & white? With this I'm also wondering what weird and wonderful patterns you'd get with a partially exposed frame where the IR and daylight would mix.
