Small ish camera bag

Hi guys,

I'm off on holiday in September, and I'm flying with air blue (don't ask!) and their hand luggage size is 42x32x20cm.

Anyone have any ideas of suitable bags? Would prefer a backpack but I guess a sling bag is going to be the most suitable in that size range...? Got to try and shoehorn a 5D, 400mm F5.6, 70-200 F2.8 and 24-70 F2.8 in there. The 400 could go in the hold I suppose..

I wouldn't put the 400mm in the hold. Either it will get 'lost' or end up wrecked due to being chucked around and squashed etc.
If you need 400mm reach you could take a 2x extender to use with the 70-200 2.8 maybe?

I use the pro version in the following link which 45cm. The one in the link is 43cm, sure you could 'lose' 1cm !!

They are very well made and padded bags.

I have the 350 which is squash-able but a bit not too much, it is more up to your strength than anything else. I would suggest to go and try the bag in a store, I love the 350 Transit you can put tons of stuff in it. And never put anything in the hold, the way they handle luggage is amazing.

Have you looked at the ThinkTank range. That was the solution I used for flying with the budget airlines. Bought a ThinkTank Accelerator V2 which fit the budget airline sizes and another plus was it was only 1-1.5 kg in weight which was another factor as my Lowepro was more than twice that with nothing in

Thanks for all the suggestions. This one looks perfect for what I need. May even be able to jury rig a laptop sleeve to the back of it with some cunning!

As regards putting stuff in the hold I know it is to be avoided but worst case scenario I think the 400 would survive.
