small lens case/protection like mobile phone 'sock' ?

Hi all,

I have a couple of lenses + body which I carry in a messenger style camera bag and even with all the dividers and padding I can't fit all my lenses without having to put some of the smaller ones together.
I have the oem cases that some of them came with which are generally very bulky and I like to travel light.
Are there cases/protectors available similar to the 'socks' you can buy for mobile phones? For example I have a 1.4x extender, soon a 50mm prime and a 10-20 siggi which dont' take up much space but can't pack them loose together, I want something just to protect the outside so they don't knock together/scuff etc when packed in my bag.

Silly question and I am not taking the proverbial:thumbs:

Have you though about using a sock, maybe one of the heavy duty walking type might provide enough padding:shrug:
 
Funnily enough I had thought of socks, but most of my good or walking socks are cotton or wool and was thinking of something more lint/strand/fibre free or synthetic? maybe neoprene is over the top but good for padding also maybe polyester if you see what I'm getting at?

it's only for padding any socks should do - best to wash them first mind.
 
Have a look around for soft lens pouches, I would think they would be better than socks, less dust and lint to transfer to your lens. Or little canvas draw string bags....
My Nikon lenses all came with soft pouches
