I have a Panasonic TZ 18 (16 x zoom) Unfortunately I ran over it :eek:
What long zoom camera would you recommend to replace it? The cheaper the better. Would prefer if the camera has manual option. Thanks for any help.
 
I understand the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX20V is pretty good and with the HX50 coming out soon the price could drop.

Looks interesting, a little pricey but within reach if nothing else comes up. Any others?
 
I have an HS-30 Fuji superzoom bridge camera which has an effective zoom range of 24-720mm in 35mm (or FF) terms and turns out pretty good photos. Now superseded but you might find one in a 2nd hand cabinet (or be able to stretch to its successor!)

Panasonic TZ25 for £125 (black model, others cost more) ?
I have a sony hx20v but the offer on the TZ25 seems like a good deal.

Edit: That's a Sold by xxx and fulfilled by Amazon offer. It's £140 at argos.

The truly pocketable cameras tend to have a much reduced zoom range - the ones I own are both "only" 4x zooms. Of the 2, the Fuji XF-1 is the most pocketable - it slips into a shirt's top pocket even in its case (the Fuji X-10 is just a little too bulky to do the same, although it does slip neatly into a coat pocket).
