No they're not really, I'll try and put up an image of a leaf tomorrow, thanks anyway.

How big is the flower (approx2" or smaller) and has it got friends i.e. is more of a (small?) shrub?

If so, perhaps an Azalea?

Different flowers bloom at different times of the year, so if it was late last year when the shot was taken it wouldn't be a spring flower.
