Both of them work really well Paul 
I love the first though it is just spot on and the colours/tones are perfect, you could maybe add a little more green in the body but that would run the risk of pushing the stereotypical little green man where it's possible better for the viewer to see for themselves

basically, an incense stick in a dark room with black background and off camera flash, camera right with home made barn doors
post processings basically as simple as a crop / straighten, then adjusting colours using hue / saturation or adding a colour layer and painting in whatever colours you like
