Woah... You people are really nice i must say
To light it, you need an off camera flash, placed between the smoke and a black background.
It should not face the card as it will light up, or the camera as it will create flare. Find a good angle that lights up the smoke well and use the manual thingy on your flash(Mine has a button you can press to fire it).
The colours are done on Photoshop, tweak the levels until you have a black background- Invert it so the background becomes white. Then you can play around with hue/saturation and also gradients and stuff.
