I use a Manfrotto Monopod (Carbon) so very lightweight,and nearly always have bottom two sections out and can flip with one finger the clamp to lower the top section as required when finding my shot,not many shots below waist height,so it works well for me,this will be my technique from now and have abandoned search for small tripod.
