Snow Leopard wifi dropouts

I get this on Leopard. Very annoying.
Edit: to expand it's a Macbook Black and only does it when first fired up, once I've disabled and re-enabled airport a few times it works fine until I close the lid. Then I need to go through the same cycle again...

I've been running SL since launch day without any wifi dropping out problems.

Yes, I get random drop outs on the Mac Pro since installing SL.
Aren't drop outs when transferring large amounts of data more likely to be caused by router settings?
This problem with SL can happen at any time, regardless of activity. Thankfully it doesn't happen that often for me. Maybe a couple of times a week. Would be nice if it didn't though. :thumbsdown:

Not had a problem myself.
Occasionally my router will throw a wobbly and need rebooting, but that affects all the connected devices obviously. Initially I did think it might have been my MB until I checked the other odds and sods that go through the router and realised they couldn't connect either.

In our house we have 2 new MBP running SL and also a windoz laptop running 7.
Either Macbook can randomly loose its connection to router, whilst this happens other computer plus skype phone, iphone remain connected no problem.
Its very frustrating as restarting computer does not always do trick.
I have set the channel on router to 7 (mid band) and its better, also turning on wep rather than WPA improves situation. Reducing speed down from N to G.

If you have to use wireless, quick fix to get the connection up and running is to renew the DCHP lease. You can do this by going to Sys Prefs. Clicking on advanced, choose TCP/IP and there is the "renew Lease" button. I used to run with this minimised so that I could get the connection back quickly.
Got fed up. Moved router and now have Ethernet connection..Guess what no drops.

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard I have had regular dropouts on my iMac, and after lots of aggravating hours trying to resolve the issue, I grabbed my ethernet cable and have used that ever since!!!
Previously running Tiger and Leopard it worked perfectly with no issues apart from the rare occurance it might lose sync, but I was always up and running again within minutes.

Reading the apple tech support pages, load of different brands of router are mentioned.
Really brings to conclusion that it is a software issue with SL.
I tried renew DHCP lease but that does not work for me when I get a dropout.
Moving router channel and reducing security down to wep has helped but not 100%.
10.6.3 is due to hit the street in the next week (i hope).
Not sure if this will cure problem but hope so.
