Yes
im off snowboarding tomorrow and just realised i have no idea how to take photos of snow!

some people seem to suggest underexposing by a stop other say let the camera decide.

anyone got any tips please :)

Noah, you actually need to give more exposure for snow shots as the luminence and glare from all that snow fools the meter into thinking conditions are brighter than they are - resulting in under-exposure.

Also consider taking a custom white balance shot of the snow itself to avoid any blue casts. :)

hehe, oops that couldve gone very wrong then! glad i asked the quetion, thanks.

You might need to give as much as 1 to 1.5 stops more exposure, but do some test shots first and check your histogram. If you shoot in RAW then you don't need to worry about the white balance. :)

apparently sunny kent is in for some snow tonight!!!!

Another 14cm fell here last night

Just added ski's and boots to my list of things to buy with Christmas money
