So I bought this hard drive- how do I read whats on there?!

Hi,
Following a previous thread I have bought an external hard drive [Seagate 500gb]. It came with no real instructions but have run the back up from Windows and I appear to have hundreds of Zip files. Thats ok I assume [?] but if I wanted to retrieve a certain set of files or file how can you do it?
The reason I ask is because most of my photos are on another computer, my laptop, which I have yet to back up. I would like to use another hard drive [yet to be bought] to use as a resource for both back up and retrieval.

did you use the windows backup program?

you should be able to use the same program to do the restore..

You would need to use the same windows backup tool- but in restore mode to restore these items. If you want to check- run the restore wizard and you will see what's there.
