Sodding typical

Made a decision this morning to take the mountain bike out over the local country park, instead of my camera. Came to a lake and stopped for a breather when I noticed the park's elusive heron perched on a partially submerged fallen tree. Several seconds later a grey wagtail joined it on the same branch, a couple of feet in front of the heron. A few more seconds and a kingfisher turned up and perched on the neighbouring branch. One shot would have managed all three in the frame at once. Arse :bonk::'(

"Sodding Typical" - why do I always picture this as a sleepy little cotswolds village?

I gave up taking my camera on bike rides - too much to worry about - unless I was covering a race, that is...

I had something similar happen before, but I just enjoyed the sight and felt proud to see what I did.

ive had that, driving back from my mother-in-laws and ray field of hay bails making a nice display on the landscape, rushed home got the camera got back within 30 minutes to see them finish loading them up onto a trailer. DOH! now the camera stays in the car always!!
